They include a temporary draft and a revised final draft of To the Shores of Tripoli, a revised final draft of Thunder Birds, revised final screenplays for I'd Climb the Highest Mountain, My Blue Heaven, and You're My Everything, a final shooting script for Stars and Stripes Forever, a continuity and dialogue script for Immortal Sergeant, two draft scripts for Alexander's Ragtime Band, a final shooting script for Career Woman, a final shooting script for Call It Luck, a revised final shooting script Wife, Doctor, and Nurse, and a final draft continuity script for A Bell for Adano.

The collection consists of drafts of manuscripts; drafts and proofs of The Eternal Fire, and annotated screenplays of several film and stage productions that Willingham either wrote or collaborated on. The papers also contain some correspondence to and from other writers, agents, and publishers. In additional, there are unmailed letters by Willingham, written mainly to vent his opinion on a particular matter or situation, not with the intention of mailing them. Included are the annotated screenplays of several film and stage productions that Willingham either wrote or collaborated on, such as The Graduate, Little Big Man, Patton, and Paths of Glory.

The collection consists of Nunnally Johnson's scripts for many different productions. These include a screenplay for The Three Faces of Eve (1956), a playscript for Holly (1966), Henry, Sweet Henry (1967), and a teleplay for The Grapes of Wrath (1974), written by Christopher Knopf and based on Johnson's screenplay for the 1940 film version of John Steinbeck's novel. Holly is an adaptation of Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's, and the collection contains an early draft and final draft of the play. Knopf's version of The Grapes of Wrath was never produced. The Frontiersmen is a first draft for an unproduced film. Two drafts for Alias the Cat were unproduced TV scripts. Scripts for unproduced films Stag at Bay , The Visit (c.1960), The $100,000,000 Snatch, Scuba Duba (1968), The Wandering Jew (1957), and film screenplays for Phone Call from a Stranger (1951), The Moon is Down (1942), My Cousin Rachel (1952), The Keys to the Kingdom (1944), and a copy of executive producer Darryl F. Zanuck's copy of Banjo on my Knee (1936) are also included.

The collection consists primarily of screenplays, scripts, and unfinished work written by Calder Willingham. The most well-documented work in the collection is Rambling Rose, for which there are several drafts of screenplays, documents, and clippings. Screenplays for Little Big Man are also included, as well as scripts and treatments for projects that apparently never materialized. The collection also includes essays Willingham wrote on a number of topics, such as writing, philosophy, religion, and his upbringing. There is a substantial amount of correspondence including letters between Willingham and fellow authors Herman Wouk and James T. Farrell. Correspondence begun while Willingham was in college at the University of Virginia includes two love interests as well as David T. Bazelon, who would become a noted social critic. Some interviews and reviews of his work also form part of the collection.

The collection consists of correspondence written by Nunnally Johnson, clippings and other documents. The earliest letter, dating from December 1946 (only "Tuesday" appears in the heading), is written on Johnson's personalized stationery and addressed to movie columnist Louella Davis. Johnson discusses the Christmas party he hosted and thanks Louella for her mention of The Dark Mirror in Cosmopolitan. Two of the letters, both from April 1952, are written to director George Cukor regarding the casting and filming of Daphne du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel. Another letter, dated January 22, 1958, is written to Jimmy Starr concerning the Academy Awards and Joanne Woodward. There is a series of personal letters between Johnson and his friend, director, and author Robert Parrish from the 1970s. There is a also a letter to Leon Jaworski, U. S. Special Prosecutor during Watergate, in which Johnson gives his opions on a suitable punishment for President Nixon.
